BASIC SAUCES

A great sauce can make the difference between a good dish and a fantastic one, with a real depth of flavour that should complement every element of the dish.

You will learn the skills behind making tasty sauces and how to pack them full of flavour!

The last component to go on your dish is normally the sauce, which brings everything together.  The sauce must be reduced enough to bring out the flavour.

You will learn to create what are called within the cooking profession 'Mother Sauces' which include Bechamel, Velouté, Tomato Sauce, Hollandaise and a Red Wine & Madeira Jus.  You can then use these sauces as a base to add a plethora of flavours.

 


All the dishes you create within this 'hands-on' class you’ll get to take home. All ingredients, take-away containers, aprons, equipment and refreshments throughout are provided by us.
