A touch of French class

PEtit fours

Have you ever been to that fancy restaurant that serves delicious, ornate mini cakes or small treats with the coffee or espresso at the end of a meal?

Ever wondered how these elaborate little treats are produced?

Ever wanted to try your hand at these culinary works of art?

Well, look no further! Come to our Petit Fours class to learn the fundamentals skills that will enable you to create trays of little masterpieces to impress your guests or friends.

Our course covers three types of Petit Fours:

  • Petits fours sec: small cookies that may have a jam, ganache, or dried fruit filling. Examples include sable beurre, palmiers, duchesses, and macarons.
  • Petits fours glaces: tiny cakes that are topped with marzipan and then enrobed in either fondant or chocolate. These are usually elaborately decorated with intricate piping.
  • Petits fours frais: These are any small pastries (like cream-filled eclairs and tartlets) or sponge cakes, such as madeleines and financiers.

What to expect:

All our classes take a hands-on approach to cooking, and you’ll be learning recipes from scratch. Our friendly chef will teach you all the tricks of the trade, starting with a fun and informative demonstration. After that, it’s over to you! You’ll be able to taste your food throughout the cooking process and season your plate to your liking. Throughout the evening chef will invite you to sample their food.
